Vectis Historic Vehicle Club

Welcome to the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club Ltd.

About us

Established in 1973, when formerly known as the Isle of Wight Veteran Machinery Club until a name change in 1980 to Vectis Historic Vehicle Club and then incorporated in 2013, we are a friendly and passionate group of historic vehicle enthusiasts totalling over 270 members.

With models dating from 1920s to the 2020s, our members are the proud owners of a wide variety of vehicles, reflecting over a 100 years of automotive history – including marques such: Armstrong Siddeley, Aston Martin, Austin, Bentley, Bristol, Cadillac, Chrysler, Daimler, Fiat, Ford, Hillman, Jaguar, MG, Morris, Renault, Riley, Rolls Royce, Talbot, Triumph, Vauxhall, Volkswagen, and Wolseley to name but a few.

Our events

The club organises a wide variety of events throughout the year, including Sunday Tea Runs. There are also static displays at the I.O.W County Show, Garlic Festival, Bembridge Festival and various village and school fetes, whilst also supporting other clubs at their Open Days. In December we hold a Christmas Charity Collection in Newport for  Mountbatten Hospice, with our cars on display in St. Thomas’s square. During the summer we hold our main club show and biggest charity fund raising event for Island charities, which regularly draws over 200 cars from the VHVC Ltd and other Island classic car clubs. It is a very popular show attracting hundreds of visitors

Joint activities are held with other Island clubs and also with mainland clubs visiting the Island, both of which provide interesting cars to see on their visits.

A club newsletter is issued by email on a bi-monthly basis. We can supply club regalia in the form of metal car badges and windscreen stickers and clothing with the club logo. Which can be seen on the club regalia page.
